New York, NY – (July 28, 2015) – Located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan and just across from its namesake, Carnegie Hall, Carnegie Deli is temporarily closed due to upgrades to its energy supply lines but plans to reopen as soon as possible.

“While we are working closely with Con Edison and other agencies, we are optimistic that we will soon be able to serve our world-famous matzo ball soup, gargantuan corned beef and pastrami sandwiches and creamy New York cheesecake,” said Marian Levine, President of Carnegie Deli and second-generation owner. “We are a family-owned and operated business serving from the same location on Seventh Avenue and 55th Street since 1937 and being closed has been heartbreaking for the family as well as our family of employees. We look forward to opening our doors to our loyal patrons from around the globe once again.”

Carnegie Deli is currently operating various locations, including Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Deli Las Vegas at The Mirage Hotel & Casino, Carnegie Deli at The Sands Bethlehem in PA and during the U.S. Open in Flushing Meadows, Queens. In the meantime, customers can order merchandise, cheesecake and meats via

“Nicholas & Lence Communications is honored to assist Marian, Sarri and the family to reopen NYC’s most quintessential deli that I have loved since childhood, and have had the privilege of working closely over the years to welcome visitors from around the world when I served as president of NYC & Company,” said Cristyne L. Nicholas, CEO Nicholas & Lence Communications. “I am most looking forward to tasting once again the potato pancakes with apple sauce.”

Originally a 40-seat restaurant that opened in 1937, Carnegie Deli cures and smokes all meats and also bakes their celebrated cheesecakes at the nearby commissary in Carlstadt, NJ. The old world and iconic New York City deli is known for its kosher-style favorites such as pastrami, corned beef and brisket, as well as stuffed cabbage, matzo ball soup and cheesecake.
